Back and forth between a rock and a hard place - the situation in the movie can aptly summarized in those words. Filiberto is an illegal migrant Mexican worker who has just returned home to Mexico, after working in the asparagus fields in the US.

It makes you realize that poor all over the world are trapped by their circumstances, from which there is no escape except perhaps prison or hard labor. This is a film about the social realities that exist in the gritty bloody world of the poor and the downtrodden.
