This is the first full length feature film of Charlie Chaplin's, I saw after a decade or so. Reminded me what a great performer Mr.Chaplin was. Performer is the right word, not an actor. He was a mime/circus performer/clown/entertainer all roled in to one.
Modern Times came out in 1936, when US had just come out of the depression and assembly line production was the hot topic of the day. Like many of Chaplin's films Modern Times is a social commentary disguised as a comedy.
