I do not know how many times I have seen this movie. One of the best scripts in Malayalam cinema, Sandesham has Sreenivasan and Sathyan Anthikkad at their brilliant best. If Malayalam had memes(of course it has, but lack of content on the internet in Malayalam could be the reason why many malayalam memes are not identified as such) this film would be the source of more than half of those.

The movie is such an exceptional caricature of politics permeating ordinary Malayali lives that to this date I haven't seen another film or a script that is better than this. All credit to the intellectual awareness and language skills of script writer Sreenivasan who also plays a major role in the movie.

It is a story of a family, with two sons, each belonging to the main opposing political parties that have ruled Kerala since independence. The party names are jumbled as if to hide their identities but as was intended it does nothing but reveal. Jayaram and Sreenivasan play the sons of retired Indian Railway employee, Thilakan. It is a laugh riot that makes you think and is complemented by natural acting by all the performers.
